Terms of the sale were not disclosed. The property is located at 26521 Whitman Street, south of Harder Road and near a BART line. Rex Warren of Prudential California Realty represented Trumark Cos. while Kevin Heisinger of Regional Land Company represented Richmond American Homes in the transaction. Home sites range from approximately 2,000 square feet to over 6,000 square feet and the homes will likely range from over 1,500 to more than 2,200 square feet. Trumark acquired the property in March 2003. Previously, it was part of the Domoto family holdings and a nursery, which last operated some 10 years ago. "This is a great site for infill building and every home site we add to the housing stock in the Bay Area will enable more families to own their homes while reducing the upward spiral of housing costs in the region," said Mr. Maples. Related to the development agreement and subsequent sale to Richmond American, Trumark presented a gift of $5,000 to the Eden Youth and Family Center in honor of Tochi and Alice Domoto, which will support the center's programs and activities. The gift was presented to Paul Frumkin, III, president of the center's board of directors. Trumark Cos. and Trumark Commercial have participated in dozens of community fundraising events, including sponsorship of the annual Score For Kids golf tournament and benefit for Oakland's Children's Hospital; it has raised funds for Oakland-based Easter Seals Kaleidoscope Bay Area and the company also built a sound wall in lieu of some of the development fees at a project in San Leandro. In related efforts, Trumark has donated a large sum of money to the Walnut Creek School District and has also supported such charities as Habitat for Humanity and Young Life. Trumark Companies LLC and its affiliate, Trumark Commercial LLC, are Danville, Calif.-based entities specializing in residential and commercial developments throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Founded in 1994, Gregg Nelson and Mike Maples are principals of Trumark Companies. Ron Winter, along with Messrs. Nelson and Maples, are principals of Trumark Commercial. Combined, the development companies have or are currently developing over $600 million worth of residential land and commercial real estate throughout the greater Bay Area. |
