Michael Maples - Principal/CEO
Michael Maples

Co-Founder Michael Maples has been a Managing Member of Trumark Companies and related entities since the formation of the residential development arm of the enterprise in 1993. His areas of expertise include marketing research and analysis, as well as entitlement processing and project management. Mr. Maples brings a strong background in leadership, management, people skills, problem solving abilities, and an extremely high commitment to honesty and personal integrity to the development process.

Mr. Maples earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University. He additionally graduated from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota with a Master of Divinity degree.

Gregg Nelson - Principal/CFO

Co-founder Gregg Nelson has been a Managing Member of Trumark Companies and related entities since the formation of the residential development arm of the enterprise in 1993. He has nearly 30 years of experience in Bay Area construction and development. Prior to forming Trumark, Mr. Nelson was senior vice president of a general contracting firm in San Jose for fifteen years and owned a real estate development company. His work ranged from field supervision, to estimating, project management and general corporate management. At Trumark, his responsibilities include finance and acquisition. Mr. Nelson's background provides the firm with the ability to look at potential projects from a construction perspective as well as a market and financial viewpoint.

Mr. Nelson graduated from San Jose State University (B.S. Business Administration) and earned a Masters of Business Administration from Santa Clara University.

Jason Kliewer - Partner and General Counsel

Jason Kliewer is a partner and general counsel for Trumark Homes, and serves on its Board of Directors. He brings a deep background in real estate acquisition and neighborhood design developed over the past 12 years at Trumark Companies, where he continues to be responsible for all aspects of the firm's land acquisition, neighborhood planning and entitlement processing. He was instrumental in the company's 1995 expansion into Southern California and his experience is vital to the land supply side of Trumark Homes. An attorney by training, Mr. Kliewer became president of Trumark Companies in June 2002 after four successful years of running the company's land acquisitions as vice president.

Prior to joining Trumark, Mr. Kliewer worked at the law firm of Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP in San Diego. Mr. Kliewer received a J.D. degree from Pepperdine University School of Law where he was a member of the Pepperdine Law Review. Additionally, Mr. Kliewer received his B.A. degree from UCLA.

Marty McComas, Director/Division President

As Division President of Trumark Homes, Marty McComas is responsible for the daily, hands-on oversight and management of all homebuilding activities in the field. He came to the Trumark companies in 2008 to be involved in the formal launch of Trumark Homes the following year. Mr. McComas brings to Trumark Homes two decades of homebuilding experience with expertise in construction management, product development, supply chain management, risk management and customer service. He has been an instrumental member in teams who have received industry accolades at the national and regional level for design innovation and execution. He has overseen the construction of over 4000 single and multi-family homes, most recently as Sr. V P of Operations for Davidson Communities. Prior to that he held a variety of leadership roles at John Laing Homes.

Mr. McComas is well known for his ability to deliver exceptional product with an operationally efficient model. He has a B. S. degree in Construction Management from Colorado State University.

James M. O’Malley - Executive Vice President of Land Acquisition – Southern California

James O’Malley is responsible for land acquisition as well as securing entitlements in the broader Southern California region. He has been an integral part of the Trumark team since 2004. James has successfully purchased and entitled several thousand lots in Southern California. Prior to joining Trumark, Mr. O’Malley worked for Beazer Homes of Southern California, Hon Development and Robert Bein, William Frost and Associates.

O’Malley received his bachelor’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.

Arden Hearing, Vice President of Acquisitions – Northern California

As Vice President of Land Acquisitions for Trumark Companies, Arden oversees all of Trumark’s acquisition, disposition, and partnership efforts for projects in Northern California. Arden is responsible for sourcing land opportunities and is the company’s chief liaison to the brokerage, land owner, and developer communities.  Arden joined the Trumark team in 2006 and has since been instrumental in acquiring or partnering on numerous development projects with a total of over 1,000 residential units.
 
Arden was most recently the President of Regional Land Company.   During this time, Arden oversaw the acquisition of over $100 million in development projects and managed the Northern California land acquisition team.  
 
Arden received his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.

Christopher Davenport, Senior Vice President

Senior Vice President Christopher Davenport is primarily responsible for all land development aspects of each Trumark project. In addition to project oversight, he is responsible for Project Leadership administration and development. Mr. Davenport also works closely with the Acquisitions Department to ensure contract terms support each unique entitlement opportunity.

Mr. Davenport joined Trumark in 2003 and served as Vice President of Land Development during which he was principally responsible for project entitlements. Most recently, he was the Bay Area Project Manager for Ryland Homes of Northern California, where he managed numerous communities through all phases of development and construction.

A California and Bay Area native, he studied history and construction management at San Jose State University.
